The terms that govern your use of Securely's AI scam detection, scam checkers, Family Pack, and emergency protection features.

UK GDPR alignedEncrypted in transit & at restUK-builtPlain-English policies

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Securely at securelyapp.co.uk you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, AI Disclaimer, Acceptable Use Policy, Subscription & Billing Policy, Data Retention & Deletion Policy, Family Pack Terms, Emergency Protection Disclaimer, and Child & Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Securely provides AI-powered analysis of messages, links, voice content, screenshots, and documents to help identify potential scams, phishing, and fraud, together with a Scam Prevention Academy and Latest Scam Alerts. The service includes:

  • Core features: Message Scanner, Voice Scam Detection, Link Checker, Threat Dashboard, Scam History, Scam Reports, Security Awareness Score, Real-Time Alerts.
  • Scam checkers: Marketplace, Ticket, Seller Profile Risk, Identity Verification, Rental, Job, Romance, and future checkers built on the same platform.
  • OCR & documents: screenshot uploads, OCR text extraction, screenshot scam analysis, document uploads, scan history, exported PDF reports, shared reports.
  • Safety Education & Latest Scam Alerts: the Scam Prevention Academy (lessons, badges and progression), the knowledge-hub article library, and the Latest Scam Alerts feed of trending threats. This content is provided for informational and educational purposes only and is updated as new information becomes available.
  • Notifications: in-app notifications, transactional emails and (on Android, where permitted) push notifications, configurable per category from Preferences.
  • Family Pack features: Family Dashboard, memberships, invitations, shared alerts, shared cases, family reports, Family Safety Score, Family Activity Timeline, Guardian Mode, elderly/child/vulnerable adult protection, monthly family reports.
  • Emergency Protection: Scam Emergency Button, Emergency Cases, Action Checklists, Trusted Contacts, Guardian Notifications, Critical Alert Escalation, Emergency Timeline.

Results across all features are guidance, not a guarantee. Securely does not guarantee detection or prevention of every scam, and you remain responsible for your own financial, legal and personal decisions. See the AI Disclaimer for full detail.

3. Scam checkers

Results from every scam checker are educational and informational only. They are not guarantees of safety or fraud, and Securely cannot guarantee the prevention of fraud. You must independently verify listings, identities, profiles, transactions, and counterparties before acting. The Identity Verification Checker does not determine whether an identity document is genuine or authentic — it only evaluates scam-related risk factors and behavioural indicators surrounding how a document is being used.

4. Alerts, education and notifications

Latest Scam Alerts and Scam Prevention Academy content are produced from information available to Securely at the time of publication. Scam techniques change constantly, so alerts, articles and lessons may become outdated before we update them, and they do not cover every scam.

Alerts and reminders may be delivered in-app, by email, and (on Android, where you have granted the permission) as push notifications. Delivery is best-effort and may be delayed or fail for reasons outside our control. Alerts should not be treated as definitive evidence of fraud — always verify independently before acting. Full detail is in our Notification Policy. You can customise or disable notifications at any time from Preferences or your device settings.

5. Emergency Protection

Securely is not an emergency service and cannot contact banks, law enforcement, emergency responders, or government agencies on behalf of users.

Users should immediately contact their bank, card provider, law enforcement, or appropriate authority if they believe they have become the victim of fraud.

See the Emergency Protection Disclaimer for full detail.

6. Acceptable use

Use of Securely is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: do not submit content you don't have the right to share; do not use the service for unlawful, harassing, or harmful purposes; do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service; do not abuse emergency or family features.

7. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Securely is intended for users aged 18+; users 13–17 may use Securely only within a Family Pack established by a parent or legal guardian — see Child & Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy.

9. Family Pack

Family Pack use is governed by our Family Pack Terms, which cover organiser, member, and guardian roles, invitations, consent, shared cases, and family-level visibility.

10. Founding Member Program

The Securely Founding Member program is a promotional subscription offering and does not grant ownership, equity, shares, voting rights, partnership status, intellectual property rights, decision-making authority, or any legal interest in Securely, its assets, operations, or future business activities.

Founding Members receive only the benefits explicitly stated within their subscription plan, including any promotional pricing, feature access, or early access benefits described at the time of purchase.

The term "Founding Member" is honorary and promotional in nature and does not establish any ownership, investment, employment, agency, fiduciary, or partnership relationship between the subscriber and Securely.

Securely reserves the right to modify, discontinue, or replace future benefits associated with the Founding Member program, provided that any promised lifetime pricing commitments remain honored according to the subscriber's active plan.

11. AI guidance, education and user responsibility

Securely uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to generate risk assessments and recommendations. AI-generated results are probabilistic and may contain inaccuracies, false positives, or false negatives. Any AI-generated response should be considered guidance only and is not professional legal, financial, investment, law-enforcement, cybersecurity or medical advice.

Safety Education (the Scam Prevention Academy, knowledge-hub articles and Latest Scam Alerts) is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It reflects information available to Securely at the time of publication and may become outdated as new threats emerge.

By using Securely, you acknowledge and agree that all decisions made based on information provided by the platform — including financial, legal or personal decisions — are your sole responsibility, and that Securely should be used as a safety tool alongside your own judgement and, where appropriate, professional advice. See the AI Disclaimer.

12. Owner and admin accounts

Owner, Founder Console and admin accounts inside Securely are internal management accounts used by Securely staff to operate the service (for example, managing content, moderating feedback and responding to abuse). They are not customer-facing accounts, are not available for public sign-up, and do not grant any additional rights over another user's data beyond those required to operate the service and meet legal obligations.

13. Data, privacy & security

How we collect and use data is described in our Privacy Policy. Retention and deletion is in our Data Retention & Deletion Policy. Security controls — including encryption, secure share links, password-protected reports, expiring links, view tracking, and access logs — are described on our Security page.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SecurelyApp, its owners, affiliates, employees, contractors, partners, and licensors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to:

  • Reliance on any information, analysis, recommendations, alerts, or content provided by Securely;
  • Failure to identify a scam, fraud attempt, phishing attack, malicious communication, or other threat;
  • Incorrect classification of legitimate communications as suspicious;
  • Delay or failure of alerts, family notifications, guardian notifications, or critical alert escalation;
  • Actions taken or not taken by users — or by family organisers, members, or guardians — based on information provided through the platform;
  • Financial losses, theft, fraud, identity theft, reputational damage, loss of business, loss of profits, or loss of data.

Users assume all risks associated with the use of Securely. No technology, AI system, or security tool can guarantee the prevention, detection, or elimination of all scams, fraud, cyber threats, or criminal activity.

Our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the prior 12 months, where permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK consumer law.

15. No compensation

Subject to the limitation of liability above and your statutory rights as a UK consumer, Securely shall not be responsible for compensating users for losses, damages, expenses, claims, or liabilities resulting from the use of the platform, regardless of whether such losses arise from reliance on information provided by Securely.

16. Termination & account deletion

You may close your account at any time from Account Settings. Upon deletion: account access is revoked; profile information, scan history, voice analysis history, saved reports, family activity associated with your account, and stored preferences are deleted; any active subscription is automatically cancelled. See our Account Deletion Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
