1. Overview
Securely sends notifications to help you spot scams quickly, stay informed about emerging threats, and manage your account. This policy explains what we send, how it's delivered, and how you can turn each type on or off.
2. Notification categories
- Latest Scam Alerts: new trending scams identified by our team or AI, published to the in-app alerts feed and (optionally) pushed to your device.
- Security & account: sign-in from a new device, password or email changes, subscription renewals, failed payments, account deletion confirmations. These are important service messages and cannot be fully switched off while your account is active.
- Family & Guardian alerts: where enabled by a Family Pack organiser or trusted guardian, critical events (for example, a high-risk scam check or an emergency button trigger) may notify designated family members. Covered in more detail in the Family Pack Terms.
- Scam Prevention Academy: occasional reminders about new lessons, streaks, badges and personalised recommendations. Entirely optional.
- Product updates: new features, changes to the service, and Securely announcements. Entirely optional.
3. Delivery channels
- In-app notifications: shown in the bell icon and on the Notifications page across web and Android.
- Email: transactional emails (receipts, security alerts, family invitations) and — only if you opt in — Latest Scam Alerts and product updates.
- Android push notifications: where you have installed the Securely Android app and granted notification permission, we may send push notifications for critical alerts and categories you have enabled.
4. Managing your notifications
You can turn each optional category on or off at any time from Preferences. Your choices are stored with your account so they follow you across devices.
- Email: every optional email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Transactional emails required to operate your account cannot be disabled while the account is active.
- Android push: you can turn off push notifications from your device's system settings (Settings > Apps > Securely > Notifications) at any time. This does not affect in-app or email delivery.
- In-app: individual items can be dismissed and history is available on the Notifications page.
5. Delivery reliability
Notification delivery is best-effort. Delays or failures can occur because of email deliverability, device settings, network availability, or third-party push infrastructure. Never rely on a single Securely notification as your only line of defence — always verify important actions (such as bank transfers) independently, and treat the absence of a Securely alert as neutral rather than "safe".
6. Privacy
Notification content is limited to what's needed for the message — for example, a scan title or alert headline. We do not include payment card numbers or authentication codes. See our Privacy Policy for full detail, including our email and push processors.
