1. Purpose
Securely exists to help people detect and respond to scams, phishing, and fraud. This Acceptable Use Policy describes how the platform may and may not be used. It applies in addition to our Terms of Service.
2. You may
- Submit messages, links, voice transcripts, screenshots, and documents you have a legitimate reason to assess for scam risk.
- Use scam checkers (Marketplace, Ticket, Seller Profile, Identity Verification, Rental, Job, Romance, and others) to evaluate listings, profiles, and counterparties you are interacting with.
- Create and share family invitations with people who have consented to receive them.
- Add scans, notes, and screenshots to shared family cases involving family members and assigned guardians.
- Export PDF reports of your own scans, cases, and family activity.
3. You must not
- Submit content you do not have the right to upload (e.g. third-party private messages without an appropriate basis).
- Use Securely to harass, defame, stalk, dox, or threaten any person.
- Upload content depicting child sexual abuse, terrorist content, or other illegal material.
- Use scam checkers to investigate, evaluate, or profile individuals without a legitimate safety reason.
- Use Securely to facilitate the very fraud it is designed to prevent (e.g. testing scam scripts for deployment).
- Send invitations to people who have not consented, or send bulk/unsolicited invitations.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying models, prompts, or training data.
- Overload, probe, or disrupt the service, or attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, or RLS.
- Resell, sublicense, or expose Securely's outputs as your own commercial service without written permission.
- Submit content solely to provoke false or misleading risk classifications for the purpose of misleading others.
4. Content you submit
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Securely a limited licence to process that content to deliver the service (scam analysis, OCR, voice analysis, report generation, family-level visibility where applicable) and to retain it for the periods set out in our Data Retention & Deletion Policy. We use de-identified, aggregated signals to improve detection. We do not sell your content.
5. Screenshots & OCR
When you upload a screenshot, you confirm you are entitled to share it with Securely for scam analysis. Where the screenshot contains another person's information, you are responsible for ensuring you have an appropriate basis to share it (e.g. it was sent to you, or you have consent). Securely's OCR is automated and may misread content.
7. Alerts & emergency features
Do not trigger emergency cases, family alerts, or critical escalations as a joke, test, or to manipulate another user. Emergency features are intended for genuine suspected fraud. See the Emergency Protection Disclaimer.
8. Enforcement
We may, without notice, remove content, suspend features, or terminate accounts that breach this policy. We may also report illegal content or activity to law enforcement. Repeated or serious breaches may result in permanent suspension and forfeiture of any prepaid subscription, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
9. Reporting abuse
To report abuse of Securely or content that breaches this policy, email support@securelyapp.co.uk. For security vulnerabilities, email security@securelyapp.co.uk.
