How Securely uses cookies and local storage
- Strictly necessary: authentication tokens, session security, CSRF and fraud prevention. The service will not work without these.
- Preferences (local storage): theme, language, dashboard settings, accessibility preferences (font scale, high contrast, reduced motion), first-launch onboarding completion flag, and the last route you visited so we can return you there after signing in.
- Notification preferences: flags remembering which alert categories you have enabled or muted (also mirrored to your account so they follow you across devices).
- Analytics: aggregated usage data to improve scam detection accuracy, measure Scam Prevention Academy engagement, and prioritise updates to Latest Scam Alerts. No personal profile is sold.
Third parties
We use trusted infrastructure providers for hosting, authentication, AI inference, and payments — Stripe for website subscriptions, and RevenueCat with Google Play Billing for subscriptions purchased inside the Securely Android app. Their cookies (if any) are limited to what is required to operate the service.
Changes
We will update this policy as our cookie usage evolves. Material changes will be notified in-app.
