Emergency Protection Disclaimer

Last updated: 22 June 2026

Securely's Emergency Protection helps you respond faster — but it is not an emergency service. For active fraud, always contact your bank or the relevant authority directly.

UK GDPR alignedEncrypted in transit & at restUK-builtPlain-English policies

1. Securely is not an emergency service

Securely is not an emergency service and cannot contact banks, law enforcement, emergency responders, or government agencies on behalf of users.

Users should immediately contact their bank, card provider, law enforcement, or appropriate authority if they believe they have become the victim of fraud.

In the UK call 999 in a life-threatening emergency, report fraud to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040, or call 159 to reach your bank's fraud line safely.

2. Scope of Emergency Protection features

  • Scam Emergency Button
  • Emergency Cases and Emergency Timeline
  • Emergency Action Checklists (Bank, Identity, Romance, Remote Access, and other scenarios)
  • Trusted Contacts directory
  • Guardian Notifications and Critical Alert Escalation

3. Purpose

Emergency Protection features are designed to help users and their families act faster when they suspect fraud — by providing checklists, surfacing trusted contact details the user has saved, notifying the family organiser and assigned guardians, and recording a timeline of actions taken. These features do not contact third parties on the user's behalf, freeze accounts, reverse payments, or initiate any official investigation.

4. Action checklists

Checklists are general guidance based on common best practice. They are not legal, financial, or law-enforcement advice and may not be appropriate for every situation. Steps may need to be adapted to your bank, card provider, country, or specific circumstances. Always follow direct instructions from your bank or the relevant authority over any guidance shown in Securely.

5. Trusted Contacts

The Trusted Contacts directory stores official contact details (e.g. your bank's fraud line, your GP, your local police) that you or your organiser have manually entered. Securely does not verify in real time that those numbers are still in use. Always double-check critical numbers against the organisation's official website before calling.

6. Guardian notifications & critical alerts

Notifications to organisers, guardians, and family members are best-effort. Delivery may be delayed or fail due to network issues, email filtering, device settings, or other factors outside Securely's control. Do not rely on a notification reaching someone — if you need help immediately, contact them directly.

7. Limitation of liability

Use of Emergency Protection features is subject to the limitation of liability set out in our Terms of Service. Securely is not liable for delays in notification, actions taken or not taken based on checklists, or losses arising from reliance on these features in an urgent situation.

8. Contact

Non-urgent questions about Emergency Protection: support@securelyapp.co.uk. For active fraud or emergencies, contact your bank, the police, or the relevant authority directly.
